It is reported from Christchurch that Government have determined to introduce a Bill in the ensuing session embodying the principle of conceding land to the promoters of railway construction, in the manner in which it is proposed to dea] with the West Coast (South Island) Kailway.
Anderson Bros.’ Raw-mill, near Invercargill, was burnt down on Friday night. The working plant was destroyed or made useless. The property was only insured for a small amount in tho National O/Tice.
