RECEIVED LAST NIGHT. WOOL SALES CLOSED. _ London, 25th. The wool sales terminated to-day. The closing catalogue comprised 2,900 bales, and a better demand was shown for most descriptions. The total quantity sold during the series was 220,000 bales. 29,000 bales have been held over till next series. RUSSIA AND INDIA. London, 25tb. The House of Commons has rejected a motion to retain a British force in Candahar. The Marquis of Darlington stated in bis speech that a rupture of diplomatic relations between England and Kussia would result if the Government of the latter country interfered with the affairs of Afghanistan. LAND LEAGUERS IN ENGLAND. London, 26th. Mr Parnell is forming a Land League in England through sympathisers with the Irish agitation. ROUMANIAN INDEPENDENCE. Bucharest, 26th.
