(FROM OUl! COKRESPOKDENT.) Wednesday Evening. Stock Sale. —There was a very good attendance at Mr Cowern’s sale of stock to-day, and competition was fair throughout. 120 head of cattle and 100 sheep wore presented for sale. All the cattle sold under the hammer, except one pen which was placed privately afterwardsFor the sheep 8s Od was refused, and they were sent home. There was a slight improvement in the prices on last sale. Old cows with good calves brought £4 T2s 6d. One pen of young cows, with a few calves given in, sold at £3 15s. 20 heifers about 15 months fetched £3 2s 6d. Another lot not quite so good, £2 10s, A pen of steers 18 months went at £3 5s ; 2-year old do., £4. Milkers sold at £5 15s to £6 2s Gd. The day being wer, the stock did not show to advantage.
