Ostrich fanning is fast becoming a staple industry in the Eastern Province of Cape Colony. At Port Elizabeth, the capital of the province, a bi-woekly market is held, the sales of which have averaged nearly £II,OOO per week for the first nine months of the current year breeding birds costing from £l5O to £2OO per pair.
