Education Board.

A meeting of the Board took place at Wanganui on Wednesday, when matters relating to this district wore dealt with as follow ; Patka. —Resolved that the committee be authorised to call for tenders for the proposed addition, and to forward tenders with plans to the Building Committee for approval. Waitotara. —Loiter applying for £l3 for the fencing of school ground.—Not agreed to in the absence of funds. Okoia. —Application for water tank for teacher’s residence, and for repairs to flooring to portion of school. —Held over till the Board is in funds. Whakamara. —Letter expressing regret at the decision of the Board not to erect a school-house, and stating that 20 children were now attending.—No action taken. Kom.—Application for tank. Agreed to. HawerA. —Letter slating that a tender had been accepted for the addition authorised by tbe Board for :CSO. AVoodville. —Letter from Mr Guy stating (hat there were 25 children of school age in the district, and applying for a school. The settlers would be willing to accept the capitation fee granted by the Government, and to make up the balance of a teacher’s salary among themselves,—Resolved tiiat the application be complied with, and that the necessary steps bo taken to form the district. WAVEJIf.KV. —Mr C. Bowater, cadet at Sandon, was appointed to Waverley, subject to approval of the committee, to he paid as fourth year pupil teacher.
