BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL , Wednesday Evening. The Government have decided to remove the Constabulary at present stationed at Waihi on to the Plains, and abandon that post altogether. This is a wise step, as Waihi is of no strategical importance at the present time. The welcome news for the Normanby people, that the Government had at last consented to erect a bridge over the Waingongoro river, on the Normanby road to the Plains, was telegraphed to Mr 0. E, Gibson by Major Atldnson, on Monday last, This - will be a great boon to Nor- • manby, as well as those selectors on the Plains towards the bush.
