BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL, Friday Evening. Thursday's meeting of the Young Men’s Mutual Improvement Society was posponed to next week, owing to the Patea. Show taking away several members. The erection of new shop and dwelling house for Mr Rassmussen, our local bootmaker, was finished a few day-s ago. It is a neat building and will help to improve the appearance of our township. Railway Station. —A quantity of the timber required for the erection of the Waverley Station is already on the ground. The contractors, Messrs Swinburne and Macfarlane, wiU commence work at the station immediately, as the contract time expires within three mouths. Patea Snow.—Waverley has been fortunate this season at the show, taking a good share of the prizes. The show made little difference to the business part of the township, the only places that wore closed being the two banks. Mr P. V. Smith, lately from London, has commenced business here as watchmaker, bis present address being Dempsey’s Hotel.
