APPLICATIONS FOR LAND.

Applications for sections cm deferred payment closed yesterday at Patea Land Office and at Hawora, for land on the Wnimato Plains, There were 3b sections opened for selection on deferred payment, at a reserve price of £5 an acre : and 40 applications have been received at Patea Land Office. Mr C. A. Wray attended at Hawera yesterday to receive applications, and the number received up to the closing hour is 42, as reported by our correspondent. The details of applications at Hawera have not reached us. Twelve sections had only one application each, one section had 4 applicants, two had 3 applicants, and nine had 2 applicants each. The deferred payment sections, for which more than one application is received, will be put up to auction next Thursday at Hawera. The sale of the other cash sections is fixed for Friday next, at Hawera, the reserve price being £4 an acre.
