WAVERLEY.

[e no 3i ou p. co i: ukspon de n t.]

BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL, Friday Evening.

I.O.G.T.—The usual foitnightly meeting of this lodge was held on Thursday, in the old Town Hall. There was a large attendance and several new members were admitted. The meeting was of a comparatively quiet nature: not so the dismissal. The noise and shouting they made in leaving the Hall were anything but creditable. Good Templars who neither taste, touch, nor offer fermented liquors should conduct themselves in an orderly manner.

Cava raty.—The cavalry fell in at 1 pan. yesterday afternoon, and were put through the foot drill by Major Noake. The annual Cavalry Ball takes place next Wednesday in the New Town Hall. It is to be a grand affair, and wo wish it every success. Sai/B ok Privileges. — The sale of privileges of the Wavorley-Waitotara Racing Club’s Spring Meeting is postponed.
