Inspection Parade. —The rifle volunteers will hold their usual monthly inspection parade on Saturday. They will fall in in front of Mr Fookes’s office to be served with blank cartride, as they are to have a
sham fight with the Cavalry. If the weather turns out fine we hope to witness a good display on both sides. After the sham fight the rifle volunteers will be put through the field exercises by one of the officers. The Cavalry will fall in at one p.m. to-morrow (Thursday). We hope they will have fine w'eather for their exer-
cises, for nothing spoils the temper of either the men or their leader like a rainy or boisterous day; The gate privileges for the raco meeting are to bo sold by auction to-morrow, Thursday.
