HAWERA TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting was held at the Secretary’s office on Monday. Present: Messrs Winks (chairman), King, Duffil, Bingfe, and Gockburu,
Correspondence from T Lloyd applying for crossing; granted. Louisa Smith, calling attention to the state of tho fence around lieu 5 acres leased from Board ; no action taken.
On the suggestion of Mr H. R. Baker, it was resolved “That the Town Board take over the instruments of the band until there is more musical talent in the town.”
The Secretary read the conditions of sale for the town acre reserve, to he sold on the 28th inst. The lease will be for 21 years, and lessees will have to put buildings to the extent of £IOO upon each section within the space of two years. The acre will be cut up into eight sections. A long discussion took place re the brewery nuisance. It was resolved to clear the drain out, Mr Burton being willing afterwards to clear it out once a fortnight. Account« passed: JTwigg £22 6s Bd, W H E Wanklyn, £lO 17s. The Board adjourned.
