GOLDFIELD AT TE AROHA.
The Thames correspondent telegraphs to the Auckland Herald: —“ Rumours have been afloat here that rich gold has been discovered in the To Aroha District. Mr Adam Porter has had a party of men prospecting in this district for some time past, and it was well known to some at least that very good indications had been met with, but for obvious reasons the matter has been kept as quiet as possible. Apparently there is good reason to suppose that a good gold field will be discovered in this district before long. As is usual in cases of this kind, some arc getting very excited over the reports which are being circulated.”
