The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report under date of London 25th:— Wool. —The sales closed firmly to-day fully at level of last sales. About 280,000 bales have been disposed of, 160,000 of which were taken for export, and 35,000 held over for future disposal. We expect the next sales will open at about present quotations. Superior combing washed has advancod Id since the close of last sales, and superior greasy has advanced id to Id ; scoured market is firmer ; clothing washed unchanged. The principal advance has been in superior greasy and superior combing washed. Trade in the manufacturing districts is slightly better.
