FIGHTING BANKRUPT.
A scene occurred at a meeting of creditors of Henry Revell, baker and confectioner, New Plymouth. A creditor, Mr Walker, publican, was explaining that Hovel I had that morning asked him for a drink, and on being refused had used disgusting language. Walker bad then kicked him out. Mr Revell : It is not correct. Mr Walker : I can bring four witnesses to prove it if necessary, and yon know you bear the marks of my boot. Mr Revell ; I’d like to get you alone for half-an-bour on the beach ! Mr Walker : If it was not for making a blackguard of myself, and burdening the hospital with you, you should take there a stronger impression of me than you already bear. Mr Revell : Oh, yes ! —l’d like you for half-an-hour ! Mr Walker : I’m afraid ten minutes would be more than you’d care for. Mr Samuel (to Mr Revell) : You must stop this, Air Revell. You will have to leave this room if you don’t.
