Uxkml'LOYKd . —The Lyttelton Times mentions that Mr Coulson, the manager of the coal mine at Coalgate, South Malvern, on Thursday last, tried to engage a number of those unemployed to work in the mine. The terms ho offered wore 7s a day and house accomodation, men to find their own blankets and provisions. These proposals wore rejected, as they would not work except at 8s per day, railway fare to Coalgate, and a promise that if they did not like the work they should be allowed their return fare. A jeweller’s shop jin the Eue Montmartre, Paris, which had upon it for a few days the familiar notice, “ Closed on .account of a wedding,” has been opened and found empty. The jeweller and the stock, worth £20,000, are missing.
