WHAKAMARA.

A public meeting was held at Whakamafa on Saturday, for electing a School Committee, Present, Messrs Wallace, G. W. Gane, Edwards, Pearce, Milham, Williams, Holgerson, Pain, Bremer, Duns, Allan, West, and F. J. Gane, who was elected chairman. Ten candidates for election on the committe were proposed for seven places, and the polling was as follows G. W. Gane... 14 Pain ... II Bremer ... 11 Williams 11 Wallace ... 10 F.J.Ganc 10 ■ Edwards ... 10 Allan ... 7 ' Baird... ... 2 . The seven highest were .elected. Mr F. J. Gane was unanimously elected chairman,, on the motion of Mr Edwards, secnodcd by Mr Williams. It was agreed, on the motion of Mr G. W.
