POLITICAL GOSSIP.

From our Wellington Correspondent

Wednesday Night,

The Public Works statement, which Mr Olliver was to have delivered tonight, has been postponed. Dissatisfaction is expressed on both sides of the House at the dilatory progress of business, and the repeated postponements of the only important business remaining during this unprofitable session. The third, and wc hope final report, of the West Coast Commission is daily expected. It is likely to contain additional recommendations, and - if these are at all extraordinary, as some persons expect, there will be lively criticism in the House.
