Railway to be Delayed.
THE RAILWAY COMMISSIONERS on PATEA, lIA WERA, AND WAVERLEY SECTIONS. (Telegram from our Correspondent.) Wellington, Wednesday Night, The Railway Commissioners’ Report recommends delay in the construction of the sections from Waverley to Patea harbor, and from Patea to Hawera. The Commissioners seem to ignore the importance of completing this through railway as a means of settling the native difficulty on the West Coast. I hear that many members are opposed to this recommendation, as they see in the completion of the railway a solution of the native troubles which have so long perplexed the colony. That recommendation will certainly be opposed in the House, and I am told that the Chairman of the Patea Harbor Board is working in that direction, and it is likely that Mr Barleyman, f rom Hawera, will do what he can on arriving here to press upon members the importance of completing the West Coast Railway.
