WAVERLEY.
[from our correspondent,] BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL, Wednesday Evening. Street Formation. — The Town Board has called tenders for the formation of Brassey-strcet and the cemetery road. This is the first work which the Board will have let this season, and there will no doubt be several tenderers, while - the public will consider that the work has not been undertaken--to soon. Salk of Leases.— The sale of ; the leases of, town reserves will bo held by Mr F. IL Jackson on Thursday morning, in the old Town Hall. There will he a keen competition for several of the sections, and no doubt some of them will fetch lull value. Railway Work.— The' heavy cutting at the back of the township is being pushed forward, and the earthwork on the section will bare been got through very soon at the present rate of progress. It is understood that the line will be opened for traffic no further than Kai Iwi, as at present, until it is completed to Waverley.
