WAITOTARA.
(from oub correspondent.') Wednesday Evening. An engine with a train of loaded ballast wagons crossed the bridge for the first time bn Saturday afternoon. The plate-laying has been completed to the station, bat there is still a good deal of ballasting to be done before the line can bo opened. Material, however, brought along the line for iVilkio’s Waverloy contract, and the plate-laying will begin immediately, if not already started. The Georgia Minstrels played here last night to a crowded house. The room being small, a considerable number had to-remain outside. However, ' that, not being the .fault of the Minstrels, need not have caused them to throw-billots of wood on the roof during the performance, making a sort of earthquake chorus. Wilson was the star in his different impersonations, being repeatedly encored. His mouth seemed to be irresistible, especially to the juveniles. Bowman’s tenor songs were also warmly applauded. The company arc to play again to-night.
