The case was dismissed. ANOTHER GOLD RUSH. Dunedin, Wednesday. Reports in reference to the gold discoveries between Hawca and Wanaka Lakes is confirmed. The gold is very coarse in quality. The whole available ground will be occupied within a few days.

GOLD DIOCOVBRY IN AUCKLAND. Auckland, Wednesday. A veay rich gold discovery is reported near .Matai Creek by two brothers, Martin and Thomas McDonnell. Seven reefs or leaders in sand were found, all containing gold. This is identical with the discovery in Matai Creek in 1852. Mersrs Ring then obtained rich specimens from Maitai Creek, but no payable reef has been discovered hitherto by companies started for prospecting in that vicinity. Farther driving in the reefs now found shows a strong body of stone 18in to 2ft wide, with gold intermixed. The claim is on property belonging to Mrs Mclntosh, from whom a lease has been secured.
