New Zealand wheat, esc ship, 48s, At Wool sale to-day, 10,000 bales wore offered, and the tone of the sale was firm A better demand for cross-breds, LONDON WOOL. London, sth. At the wool sale to-day, 8300 bales were offered. The firm tone which marked yesterday’s sale was again sustained. HOMEWARD MAIL. The Homeward mails via San Francisco with New Zealand dates of April 24 to 27i were delivered to-day. CONFERENCE OF GREAT POWERS, London, sth. All necessary arrangements have been made for the approaching European Conference to be hold at Berlin. Lord Odo Russell, British Ambassador at Berlin, and General Sir W. Simmons, will represent England. The powers to be represented at the conference have agreed to take question of Greek claims first into consideration. British Government are making efforts to prevent any serious conflict occurring between Montenegro and Albania. SHOCKING SUICIDE. Melbourne, Monday. John Muller, a Swiss who recently arrived from New Zealand, committed suicide in Melbourne Cemetery. The body was discovered to-day and was found to Lave been horribly gnawed by rats.
