Bridge Washed Down at Waitotara.

(Telegram from our Correspondent .) Waitotara, Friday Night. The rain on Wednesday night and Thursday morning caused a very heavy fresh in the river. Early on Thursday morning a large quantify of debris collected against the scaffolding piles of the railway bridge, and one or two heavy loads coming down the river at the rate of six miles an hour, carried the whole of the scaffolding for the second span out to sea. The first of the three main spans had already been placed, and the contractor was only waiting for timber to place the super structure on the second row of piles, which are all driven, to run out the beams of the second span. Ho estimates his loss at £3O, and that the completion of the work will be delayed a month through this accident.
