A SUGGESTION.
Sir,—:ln attending a meeting of members of the Institute, a short time ago, I _■ ... _i_ At.'
was struck with the difficulty the committee had in fulfilling their engagements, through shortness of funds. A little time ago'the ladies of Haweia got up a Bazaar, and by their industry arid- kindness managed to pay off a large sum of money pwing by their Institute and Library. It was greatly to the credit of their public spirit -that they should have taken .’such trouble and gained such success, and it was still more to their intellectual credit that they should turn their industry in a direction which; had so meritorious an object as supporting a literary institution. I.arn Briro the Patea ladies are not behind their Hawera sisters iii either public spirit or intellectual Hfej and that they would (if asked) willingly do their best to help a cause which is so important a benefit to all of us.—Yours, &c., INSTITUTE,
