T1 le Kohistanis, having effected a junction with other hostile tribes, made a desperate attack on the British possessions between Cabal and Gundamuk. Heavy fighting ensued, and the enemy were repulsed with great loss. British loss trifling. LONDON. March 28. Gladstone has recovered from his recent illness. News lias boom received from Somth America of resumption of hostilities between Chilians and Peruvians. A severe battle has been fought atMosquega, which resulted in the defeat of the Chilians, who suffered a loss of 1,300 killed and wounded.
