WOOL EXPORTS FOR 1879.
Foil several years (says the Auckland
Weekly News) the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company occupied an inferior position in regard to the other exporters of Australian and New Zealand Wools to the London market. Year by year tho operations of this company have been extended at a more tapid rate than those of their competitors, and for the first time last year the local company headed the list of exporters. This year the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company occupy the same proud position in even a more decided 'manner than they did last year. Last year the difference between their trade and the company next in importance was 13,470 bales, but this 3'ear tho difference has increased to 18,104 bales. During the year 1878, one local company exported to London 65,223 bales of wool, which was increased during 1870 to 83,972 bales, while Messrs Dalgety, D.u Cross and Company exported last 3 ear almost the same number of bales as did the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company in 1878.
