PATEA EAST ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. Present— Messrs Derrett fin the chair), W. Gower, Bremer, and Hurley. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Proposed by Mr Hurley, seconded by Mr A. Gower, and carried, “That the application of Major Turner and Mr McKetterick be granted) and that seven chains of gravelling be done in that part of Taranaki Road complained of,” The Chairman, and Messrs Hurley, Bremer, and W. Gower, were appointed a Committee to superintend the contracts of Messrs Johnson and Mercer, and Sangster.

Proposed by Mr A. Gower, seconded by Mr Hurley, and carried, “ That the above committee be empowered to let 7 chains of gravelling between Mr Drake’s and Major Turner’s property, without calling tenders.” The Secretary was instructed to write to Major Turner requesting him to repair the dx-ain through his paddock without delay. Accounts were passed, and the meeting adjourned.
