CARLYLE TOWN BOARD.
Tlie usual meeting of the above Board was held on Monday last. Present — Messrs Milroy (chairman), Dale, Howitt, ami Aitchison. Minutes of previous meeting read and conformed. Correspondence included—Letter from Harbor Board, ashing for payment of gravel taken from Harbor Reserves ; from ,lames Hirst, x-esigning his seat as a member of the Board; from James Jackson and John Graham, complaining of filth being thrown in front of the Australasian Hotel ; from R Macalister, asking for the accounts of the Board to be sent to Wellington for audit.
Proposed by Mr Dale seconded by Mr Aitchison, and carried, “That Mr Hirst’s resignation bo accepted.” Messrs Graham and Jackson’s complaint was referred to the Inspector of Nuisances.
Proposed by Mr Dale, seconded by Mi* Milroy, and carried, “ That the Public Works Committee bring up a report at the next meeting, with estimated cost of .the most necessary works requiring to be executed during the current year.” Proposed by Mr Milroy, seconded by Mr Aitchison, and carried, “That the Working Cdmmittco inform the clerk of the amount of gravel required to complete the contracts recently executed, and that the amount, as per agreement, be paid to the Harbor Board.”
Proposed by Mr Aitchison, seconded by Mr Howitt, and carried, “ That Mr Williams be charged rent for Hospital Reserve up to the date on which his lease of same was candled."
Accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
