[from a correspondent,] It was reported to our sergeant of police one day last week by a resident of Normanby, that an indecent assault bad been committed on his wife, and that the assailant was an A.O. man, whom he could identify positively. To enable him to make his identification, the whole of the men at VVaihi were paraded, but beyond scrutinising a smart and modest young sergeant, the complainant left the camp as wise as he came. An offer was made to parade those men who were on pass on the night of the alleged assault, but that was not availed of, and it is generally believed that the complaint had no foundation, ending only in giving Sergeant Cahill a lot of running about
