(Captain Wray), while condemning the action of defendant in refusing payment of his acknowledged order, said the law left him no other course than to give judgment in his favor. The Members of the Brigade wish to commence Practice at once; they require means to purchase Plant, &c., for the purpose of carrying out the object for which the Brigade was formed, viz., The protection and saving of life and property, from fire. , When the public of Carlyle know that Funds are required for such a purpose, the Brigade Committee feel satisfied that the required assistance will not be long wanting.
