[Reuter’s Telegrams.] MELBOURNE. June 2. The French transport Calvados arrived to-day, en route for Noumea to_ take back to France the pardoned Communists. The captain,- a distinguished officer, committed suicide during the voyage. June 3. The total entries for the Melbourne Cup amount to 122. For the Champion Stakes, the entries are 45. These include all well known horses.
