PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the above Board was held at Kakaramea, on Monday last. Present—Messrs Mcßae (chairman), J. Paterson (Carlyle), J. Paterson (Kakaramea), Peacock, Hamilton, and Marchant. Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed. Correspondence read—Letter from Chairman Waste Land Board, Taranaki, informing the Board that the expenditure of deferred payment money on Ball, Wilford, Clifford, and Hurley Roads was approved of; telegram from Secretary Treasury, dated 18th February, in reply to one from the Board, stating that second moiety of subsidy will be payable iu March; letter from Mr Struthers, informing the Board that Ins contract for falling bush on Clifford Road was nearly completed, and requesting that a committee.be appointed,to inspect same; letter from Messrs Fraser and Tregear, re Hill and Walsh’s contract on Ball Road, and other matters. Proposed by Mr Hamilton, seconded by Mr Peacock, and earned, That Mr Strnthers be informed that when he considers the road is properly finished, a committee consisting of Messrs Marchant and J. Paterson (Kakaramea) will inspect the same. Proposed by Mr Marchant, seconded by Mr Peacock, and carried, That the Board take over Messrs Hill & Walsh’s contract on Upper Ball Road. Resolved, That Messrs Fraser & Tregear be charged the sum of £l9, being half the expenses incurred by the Board in getting Golding & Week’s contract ou. Upper Kakaramea Road and Clifford’s, contract on Ball Road completed according to plans and specifications, •Resolved, That the Electors Roll for' tlie District be kept at the office of the Board, and that notice be given that it is open for inspection from the 20tH instant till the 15th April next. Tender from Mr T. H. Morgan offering to impound stock from off the District roads (poundage fee to be handed over to the Board) for the sum of £6O per-annum, was declined.

Resolved, that Mr Woller be requested to remove tree that fell from his.Woodville section on.to the Ball Road. Account passed for payment: Patea. IVT-a ri> t 38s, ‘ \ The meeting then adjourned,-.
