Establishing a Toll Gate at WaitotaraIN pursuance of tho power granted under “ The Public Works Act, 1876,” the County Council of Patea Lave resolved to establish a Toll on the North or P«£ea side of the Wuitotara -Bridge. The following will be the scale of tolls payable, viz. : SECOND SCHEDULE. s. cl. 1. For every sheep or other head of small cattle 0 0| 2. For every horse saddled or harnessed ... 0 3. For every horse not in harness or head of groat cattle ... ... 0 3 4. For every two-wheeled vehicle with springs, drawn by one horse 1 0 For every additional horse attached to such vehicle ... 0 6 5. For every foal at foot,*or calf 0 3 This Schedule shall he read as if the words “.mare, gelding, ass, bull,' cow, -or calf,” were inserted alter the word ’horse throughout;. Provided that • not more than one toll shall bo taken on any vehicle or horse passing or returning on the same day : And provided further that in case of a vehicle without springs having the tires of nil its wheels of a breadth of not less than five inches, the wheels being so formed that a surface of not less than five inches comes in contact with the ground on a firm cart road, the amount of tolls shall be onehalf the rate which would otherwise be charged under this Schedule. From Kalcaramea to Manutalu Hotel, about miles. Contract 37. From Manutalu Hotel to Tangahoc Bridge, about miles. Contract 38. From Tangahoe Bridge to Hawcra Junction, about 3 miles. Also, for Gravelling Contract No. 28, from Ginger's Hill to Burke’s Hill, said contract being one mile in length. Also, for the supply of 500 (say five hundred) cubic yards of gravel (more or less), to be deposited on the road be. tween the old Schoolliouso at Norm an by and the Clover road corner at the back of Hawera.
