CARLYLE TOWN BOARD.

{To ike Editor of the Patea Mail.) Sir, —The ratepayers of Carlyle must be a very easy going- lot of people to allow one of its members to stop away from the Board meetings month after month without calling upon him to resign. I refer to Mr Williams, who is now in the service of the Government as Land Purchase Commissioner. It may have been that gentleman’s intention to resign, but in the press of business, forgotten ; but now that the matter is brought before the notice of the nublic, it is to be hoped he will take the hint—l am, &c„ RATEPAYER. Carlyle, December 13, 1878.
