PATEA EAST ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held at the- Secretary’s office, on Monday last. Presents Rev A. Dasenf (chairman), Messrs Derrett, W. Gower and Bremer. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Correspondence included—Voucherfroni the Treasury for £BO 17_s Bd, being subsidy of 10s on half year’s rates ; request from Messrs Dasent and Gibson for Secretary to call special meeting for 12th October. Outward correspondence included a letter to the Under Secretary for Crown Lands, explanatory of action taken in respect of forming road along river bank through sections on Whenuakura Block, and of the acceptance of Captain Wray’s offer of £IOO towards construction ~pf, bridge. Copy of resolution passed by tlio Board also enclosed. Proposed by Mr Derrett, seconded by Mr Gower, and carried, “That the .Chairman and the mover confer with Mr Tregear to procure a map of the district for the Board.” Proposed by Mr Derrett, seconded by Mr. L. Bremer, and carried, “That tendersbej called for forming and gravelling a por-. tion of Little Taranaki Road. Tenders to be received by next rheeting. Messrs Gower, Derrett, and the Chairman superintend the same. Accounts passed Mathew Would, £9B 14s 6d. Statement of receipts and expenditure for October showed—Balance in hand Ist October, £GI 10s ; receipts during month, £lO4 3s4d. Expenditure during month; £2 4s Bd, leaving a balance of £163 8s Bd. The meeting adjourned.
