PRESIDENT is a beautiful rich roan (now the favorite color in‘England), ia 7 years old, and stands 16 hands 2 inches on very short legs, with splendid flat bone, and has a good temper and superior action. President was imported from Melbourne by John Shields, Esq., and was bred by Kenneth McKenzie, Esq., Heidleburgh, Victoria. Pedigree —By Lord Clyde (imported) out of Blossom, by Prince Charlie (imported) out of Kate (imported), by Lothian Tam, &c., &c. By the above it will be seen President lias a Pedigree second to no horse in the North Island, and his stock are allowed by competent judges to be equal to anything in the Wanganui District. Terms —Single mares, £3 10s ; two or more, as per agreement; groomage, ss. President will travel to Hawera on Mondays; Normanby and Ketemarae on Tuesdays; returning to Kakaramea : on Wednesdays; Wavcrley on Fridays; returning on Saturdays. Fees payable on Ist January, 1879. To Travel this Season , The Thoroughbred Stallion, MONARCH 'll/f ON ARCH is a beautiful brown color, R 5 stan ,1s 1G bands high, and has splendid hone. He is got by Pavcnsworth (imported)—sire of Papapa, Guy Faux, Opawa, Hercules. &c. —out of Plover by Sir Hercules. Plover was the dam of Voltaguenr, Malvina, Hercules, Monarch, Araminta—all good performers in the South Island. Monarch has proved himself a sure foal getter, and bis stock in this district (now 2 years old) are a better recommendation of their sire than any other, as they have plenty of substance, and will make good cross-country oi carriage horses. Terms—Single mares, £3 10s; groom’s fee, os. Monarch will travel to Hawera on Mondays, returning on Tuesdays, to Wavcrley on Thursdays, and back on Fridays. ("f ONQUEROP is a bright bay, rising 5 J years old, stands 16 hands 3 inches high, of immense muscular power, and splendid action. Conqueror was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Emperor out of the celebrated marc Kate (imported by the late Air Jas. Strachan). Sire,' Emperor. Emperor has gained three first and three second prizes. Emperor’s sire, Napoleon (imported by J. Nimmo). Napoleon by George Buchanan’s Emperor out of Nan r y (■imported)—bred by Alexander Ifinlay, Esq., Sandyhiils, near Glasgow. Nancy by the celebrated Garnary Horse, and beldam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as .'i 3-year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Bailiestan, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. She was next year shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. Conqueror took the first prize as a 2year old at the Bluoskin Show, 1875, ami second prize for All-Comers and Aged Horses at, the same Show; and at Oamarn the following year look second prize as a_ 3-year old in a field of nine competitors.
