The Catholic petition, in favor of denominational education, received 740 signatures of persons over fourteen years old. CHRISTCHURCH. September 10. Members from the Southern trip loft last night, soon after arrival, per Tanpo and Hinemoa. The Press here urge the running of excursion trains between Christchurch and Dunedin, for a fortnight. It is still raining heavily, and has continued without intermission since Saturday.
