PATE A WEST TOAD BOARD. Till-; ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board, was held at the Town Hall, Kaknramca, on Monday last. Present : Messrs Mcßae (chairman), W. Napier, J. Paterson (Carlyle), J. Paterson (Kakaramea), and G. A. Marchant. Minutes of previous meeting read an 1 conli rined. Correspondence included—Letter from 11.I 1 . Campbell as to road work on Tumaha Road—referred to Messrs Peacock and Hamilton to deal with ; from Fraser and Tregcar, forwarding plans of road works ; circular letter, and sheet of patterns of sanitary sione-warc and piping ; from Colonial Secretary's Office, re return of annual income and expenditure, &c. The following tenders were opened Hursthousc Road, falling bush and clearing cart track—R. Tnllock, 14s Gd per chain—accepted ; J. Hartwell, 15s per chain —declined. Falling Bush on Upper Kakaramea Road —Johnson and Dewery, Us per chain —• accepted. Paterson Road—McGovern and Norris—tender informal, no deposit leaving been sent. C. Tapp’s tender for No. 4 contract, Upper Ball Road, and Strnlher’s for Clifford Road, declined, being considered too high. Resolved—“ That Messrs Wollcr and Norris be informed that unless the)’ commence work within three weeks, and finish their contract on Ball Road to the satisfaction of the Engineers, within two months from date, the Board will have it completed, and deduct the cost from amount of contract money.” Messrs J. Paterson (Carlyle), and W. Napier, were appointed a committee to superintend works on Warren, Cemetery, and Lower Kakaramea Roads. Messrs J. Paterson (Kakaramea), and W. Napier, wore appointed to superintend works on Wilson and Hukurara Roads. Messrs Mcßae and Marchant were appointed to superintend works on Spence, Lower Ball, Garsed, and Joll Roads. Messrs Peacock and Hamilton were appointed to superintend works on Manutahi and Ginger Roads. It was resolved to call for fresh tenders for works on Paterson, Upper Ball, Wilford, Hurley, Clifford, Manutahi, Upper Kakaramca, Joll, and Tumaha Roads. Messrs Napier, J. Paterson (Carlyle), and J. Paterson (Kakaramea), were appointed to accept tenders for Paterson Road. Accounts passed for payment—Fraser and Tregear, £9 6s ; Patea Mail, £2 11s; American Rubber Stamp Co., £l. Meeting adjourned.
