PARLIAMENTARY.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. WELLINGTON. August 6. Mr Sheehan, replying to Mr Richardson, Said that Government were taking steps to secure the land included in the Hot Springs of Rolomahana and Rotorua, for the benefit of the public and visitors from other colonies and countries. Replying to Mr Thomson, Mr Stout said if the Counties and Road Boards were endowed, as they seem to want, there would be no land left to Government to sell. They did not, therefore, intend to introduce a Bill relating to the endowment of Counties and Road Boards. Sir Macandrew, replying to Mr Wakefield, said that Government were taking steps to secure a uniform rate of freight on grain on the whole Canterbury line. Also replying to the same hon. member, Air Macandrew said Sir John Coode had not yet reported upon the Milford Harbor. Air Stout announced that Government, would in another place introduce a Bill to amend the Counties Act. Imprest Supply Bill for a quarter of a million, has been passed. The House rose at 5.30. Mr Fox will move on Wednesday next for a return of all particulars regarding the distribution of Government advertisements.
