(per press agency.) NEW PLYMOUTH. August 6. At the Waste Lands Board meeting, with reference to the Ferry Reserve, it was resolved to recommend the Government to withdraw it, with a view of offering the same for sale by public auction.
WELLINGTON. August 6. Mr Curtis gives notice that he will move the followins resolutions :—lst. Section of the Constitution Act, giving the Governor power to nominate members to the Legislative Council, to be repealed. 2nd. The number of members .hi the Legislative Council to bo one half that of the House of Representatives. 3rd. Vacancies in the Council to Ue filled by persons elected by ballot out, of tbe House of Representatives. 4t|)y Any Bjll passed by tbo House, and objected to shy the Council in two seccessive Sessions, the House may require that, the Council and the House sit together for toe consideration of such Bill, and if a majority of two-thirds of the united bony vote in favor of the Bill, it shall be deemed to have passed both Houses. 6th. Similar provision when the House twice repeals a Bill passed bp the Council.
