Gibson or any other party, except hy public competition. The Chairman said the Board could not sell the land except by public* competition. A plan of the .Resident Magistrate's Reserve, Carlyle, has been referred to the offioe, Carlyle, to be reported upon generally. Chcnl, one o{ the surveyors on the Waimate Plains, lias crossed the Kapnni without opposition from the natives, who remain quiet.
