(per press agexcy.) WELLINGTON. July 23. A large fire occurred at Masterton early this morning. Fallon s, Williams’, Wylee and Girdleston’s, Sellar and Hales’ stores, and Wairarapa Register office were destroyed. Fire began in latter place, but the origin is unknown. Suspected to be the work ot an incendiary. Previous to fire'being discovered, an explosion was heard in the Register office, then the flames spread rapidly. The estimated loss is between £20,000 and £BO,OOO.
