Our Waverley correspondent writes— The ordinary meeting of the Town Board was held in the Town Hall, on Tuesday evening, when the following members were present : Messrs Swinbourn (chairman), Mason, McFarlane and Oycrend.—The chairman stated that he had received from Mr Ue G. Fraser the plans of the extended town and the town belt. With reference to the latter he had not yet received a reply from Government, but had received a letter from Mr Bryce on the subject, and hoped that I>efore the jneizt meeting lie would hear mare of the matter. —Proposed by Mr Mason, seconded by Mr McFarlane, '• That the chairman be requested to communicate with.jthe County Council asking on what terms that part of the main road in the town of Waverley would be given over to the care of the Board.” Carried. —Mr Fraser’s account for surveys and plans, £27, was passed for payment. At the sitting of the Court at FXavver.fr on Monday, before C. A. Wray, Esq., K.M., and Captain Wilson, J.P., two or three cases down for hearing were adjourned. The following/ was decided—-McLean and Broadbent v George Lynch, claim £5 14s. Judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs 13s. '

At the Carlyle Court yesterday, before C. A. Wray, Esq., E.M., there was a sort of impounding field-day. Constable Shied summoned the following persons for breaches of “ The Taranaki Impounding Ordinance, 1870,” for allowing horses and cattle to wander, the fine in each case being 2s 6d a head and costs 6s Gd. D. M.Warren, one horse; John Ross summoned for two horses, but only owned one, and was therefore fined for one only ; C. H. Monkton, one horse; William Colson, one horse ; W. Williams, one horse. Sergeant Whelan also summoned his son Robert for allowing, one horse to wander—fined 2s 6d and 6s Gel costs. W. Williams summoned by Sergt. Whelan for three head cattle—fined 2s 6d and Gd 6d costs.
