[per press agency.] <& • AUCKLAND. May 16. The Government have determined to stop the sale of Native reserves. Seven were offered to the Government during the Hon Mr Sheehan’s recent visit to the King Country, but declined. He informed the Natives that the reserves were made to prevent them becoming landless. A large number of reserves have been alienated during the last few years to private speculators. WELLINGTON. May 16. The Wanganui and Foxtonline will be open for through traffic on Wednesday. The Government have , arranged with Hastwell and Co., for a daily mail service between Wellington an®. Foxton, commencing on Wednesday morning from Wellington, and Thursday morning from Foxton. This will give a daily exchange of mails between Wellington and Wanganui.
