WAVERLEY HIGHWAY BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, 4th May. Present : Messrs Bridge (in the chair), McLean, lon, Lupton, and Fleming. Treasurer’s balance, £355 17s lid. Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by
Mr McLean, 11 That a Milner’s safe be procured for the Board.”—Carried. Tenders for Kohi Road were received as follows :—Wilson and McKie, £SO 10s—accepted : J. Dudley, £65 ; 0 Robinson, £65 ; J. Bowie, £SB ; J. Hughes, £sl 10s ; Manning and Bream, £SB 18s 6d—declined.
Proposed by Mr Bridge, seconded by Mr Lupton, “ That a rate, of 9d in the £ be made for the period commencing Ist April, 18.78, and ending 31st March, 1879, payable in one instalment, on Ist June, 1878” — Carried.
Proposed by Mr Bridge, seconded by Mr Lupton, “That Wardens Lupton, Bridge, and lon, sign the rate book”—Carried
Accounts passed and paid :
Winchcomb, £lB 15s ; Hirst (3 and 4), 5s ; Stamps, £1 ; Patea Mail, £2 5s ; Hunt (4 and 5), £5 8s ; Keenan and Ross (3), £26 ; Dudley and Rolfe. £29. A. Stewart applied for leave to place two gates on joad leading to the beach adjoining section 79. Consideration deferred one month.
Resolved, “ That Messrs Lupton. and Fleming prepare specifications and call for tenders by next meeting for the repairs required on Cemetery Road.”
