WAVERLEY ELECTION.
(To the Editor of the Patio a Mail.) Slit, —I see by your report of the election for the Patca Harbour Board, Waverby Riding, that your informant' lias neglected to state that I scut in a notice to the Deputy Returning Officer, requesting him to withdraw my name from the list of candidates ; but as it did not reach him two dear days before the election (as provided in “ The Local Elections Act, 187G,”) he refused to receive it, and I, therefore, had to go to the poll. I certainly thought my name was withdrawn for I informed a number of my friends that such was the case, and requested them to vote for one of the other candidates. You will oblige me by inserting tins letter in yonr next issue, as it will explain an apparent breach of faith on my part towards several gentlemen to whom 1 had given a promise that, under certain circumstances, I would withdraw before the polling day.—l am. &c., Cl. S. BRIDGE. Wavcrley, March 11, 1878.
