PROGRESS - PATEA HARBOR
HARBOR PLANS. SPECIFICATIONS, & ESTIMATES ASSENTED TO BY THE GOVERNOR. The fo'lowing telegrams received on Wednesday, by G. F. Sherwood, Esq., (Chairman Patca Harbor Board) indicate near approach of the actual commencement of proposed works. We understand that the Harbor Board has been convened for Wednesday next, for the purpose of formally agreeing to call for tenders for first portion of the work. The following are the telegrams : “ Wellington, January 16. “Chaiiraan Patea Harbor Board, Patea. “ I get official notice to-morrow that plans have been signed. Government retains one set tracings. Shall I make another “John Thomson.” “ Government Buildings, “ Wellington, January 16. To G. F. Sherwood Esq., Patca. “Plans Patea Harbor improvements assented to yesterday. J. Ballance.” “ Wellington, January 17. “ Chairman Harbor Board, Patea. “ One copy plans and specifications sent to-night. Other copy soon. “John Thomson.”
