The Patea Harbor Board, at meeting held on Monday last, decided that Mr John Thomson, the Engineer referred to in last issue, should be employed by the Board to prepare plans and' specifications for the south groin, G6O feet. That gentleman arrived by coach on Saturday, and after the meeting on Monday, was, we believe, engaged, as decided upon at the meeting. His instructions are to prepare working plans with despatch, and if no hitch occurs, it is probable contract for the work will be
