Turkish killed and wounded —live hundred —ten thousand prisoners, three hundred cannon, flags, and immense quantity of stores wore taken. JMelikoff directed the assault, the Grand Duke being present. The Russian attacking forces were 15,000. Plevna is entirely invested and is expected hourly to fall. Russians arc advancing westward to cut off from Sophia the Turks under Mchcmct who are mustering at Sophia. There is groat excitement at Stamboul. Outbreaks of popular anger are feared. Mukhtar lias been ordered to defend his position to the last. Montenegrins captured the forts at Antrori, with large quantity stores. Russians have sustained reverses at Shipka Pass. The French Ministry resigned. New Zealand hemp is firmly held. The fall oi Kars created great enthusiasm amongst the Russian troops in Bulgaria. Salvoes of artillery were fired around Plevna. At a Council of War at Kars after its fall, General Philippoff advocated the march of the army westward to Scutari. It is stated that Osman Pasha is willing to surrender to the Russian general, but not to Prince Charles. Other accounts state provisions at Plevna are abundant. The Sultan has ordered Mukhtar to resist at Eraeroum to the last extremity. The Russian loss at Kars was enormous. The Turks inflicted heavy loss on Russians an the Lora and Juntra. The Russians have captured Etropol. Andrassy says the moment for mediation has not yet arrived. The Russian Press contains the following condition of peace—cession of part of the Turkish fleet; Russian and Turkish joint occupation of the Dardanelles, and exclusion of all other nations.

After Unsuccessful attempts to form a Ministry in France of Moderates) a Conservative Government was formed, upon which the Legislative Chambers issued resolutions refusing to enter into relations with it. McMahon resolved upon a determined policy of resistance to the Chamber.

of the Waver!ey Town Board to inform him what are the boundaries of the Waverh-y Town. Resolved, That the Chairman take the necessary stops to legalize the deviations at sections IGI and 449.
Resolved, That Mr Tylee be informed tiiat the Board have determined to adhere to their resolution of November 3rd.
