KETEMARAE SMALL FARM ASSOCIATION.

(7b the Hdliuv of (he Patka Mail.) Sjh,—l am surprised that you should have allowed such a report to appear in your issue of the Ist instant, concerning the meeting of the S.F.A., held in Nor man by, on the ’29th ult.

I>y that repoi tit would seem that the election of Air Williams ns chairman, and of Mr McGuire as secretary, took place together. Mr Williams’ election, as I need not say, was at the commencement, but Mr McGN at the end. My reason for calling your attention to the misrepresentation is, that any reader would think that all the disputes that arose on the subject of Mr McGuire’s not having paid, over the various 5s received from (he applicants for sections for the preliminary expenses, amounting altogether to more than E'22, took place after his election to the post of Secretary, and not when he was acting in that position jjro lem. During the course of the altercation he was the subject of the most violent abuse. As your report says “ be was denounced in no measured terms,’’ but the result of it all was, that at the conclusion of the mooting (and not at the beginning;, he was elected as secretary by 18 votes, the other gentleman proposed having 8 votes. The Society might find it a serious obstacle to their progress were it really the fact that when their secretary was elected, lie should bo made the object of such an onslaughter on his conduct; but the ract of his being chosen after it, showed plainly the opinion entertained of him. It must bo known to yon, as it is to others, that he was the first to inaugurate the scheme, and he has done his best to further it; but he has been thwarted and abused up to the present time ; but now, with the support that lie will no doubt get from the new committee, consisting of really practical business men, there is little doubt of the Society prospering.—l am, &c„ _ _ NEMO. Nonnanby, 3rd Dec., 1877.
